Bear Hunter. Perfect combination. I’ve photographed lions and tigers, and now, finally, (Oh, my!) bears. His name is Tag, and as Keith the trainer said, he’s like Marmaduke in a bear suit, a six hundred pound bear suit, with enormous claws. Really big, but with a sweet, wonderful personality. Tag did all the things that we wanted a bear to do: sniff the campsite, crush the cooler, shred the tent, climb on the truck, and check out the I’m-smiling-but-not-moving-a-muscle photographer. Literally a super thrill. Tag’s just a young guy (he’ll grow to around 1200 pounds), and I can’t wait to see him again.
